Collective Takes on Maintenance Mania 2026
Cowbells. A derby car track. Smoke detectors beeping from every direction.
Welcome to Maintenance Mania.
The Greater Red River Apartment Association brought maintenance professionals together at the Avalon Event Center in Fargo to compete in a series of timed, scored events based on the real challenges these techs tackle every day: troubleshooting broken sinks, fixing locks, replacing dead batteries, repairing torn screens, and more.
Five Collective team members stepped onto the floor with winning on their mind. Rob, Tony, Daniel, Jacinto, and Nate competed in garbage disposal installs, window screen replacements, and the event everyone looks forward to most, the derby car race.
The team brought their A-game and was ready to put their real world skills to the test.
The cheering section was standing room only. "People really got into it," one team member said. "They had cowbells and were cheering on their team members."
Not all the noise came from the cheering section.
"It was a bit overstimulating, especially when they had to change out smoke detectors. There was so much beeping," one cheering team member commented.
Win or lose, we couldn’t be prouder of our team members and truly appreciate what each of them brings to the team. Our residents are lucky to have you, and so are we.
